Morrow only put 2.2 WAR and Thorton 0.4 WAR for us so not a single 1st round pick managed 10 WAR in all that time.
You can't say they were bad picks though. They produced, just not for us.

Over a decade of absolute craptastic drafting other than Jones who put up the 32 WAR for the O's.

I think most teams draft records look similar to this. There's a lot of variability. Some players get injured, especially pitchers, and that derails some careers. Others you can look at their performance and see that there was development, but just not what you hoped for. Ackley wasn't a bad pick really, he just sort of hit a wall in his development. Hitting at the ML level is a hard thing to do.

I went to Tacoma a few times to watch Ryan Anderson pitch and I can tell you that I will never blame the Mariners for drafting him. He was absolutely spectacular and dominant. But the shoulder couldn't take it, so what do you do?

Might even be worse to trade a good player that ends up producing than a bad draft pick. Just like Chris Taylor trade

you guessed right dtrain but just messing around lol. im not saying hes the greatest, but a guy whose first 10 years who hit well over 300 scored 100 runs could steal 40 plus bags play great defense has a great arm etc, its hard to say hes the most overrated player ever.

It's kind of a similar situation to Shawn Alexander. He was an elite RB for several years, then gets this big contract and rewards the team by taking dives when his o-line couldn't open holes. Ichiro clearly sacrificed OBP and power because he was obsessed with getting the hits record, even if they were all singles. Even when he got too slow to get the infield hits he didn't change his approach. It's too bad the Mariners couldn't trade him around 2005 when he would have brought a decent haul.
