Dude is killing it. I'm excited to see what he does in the hitter friendly Cal League.

JT Salter pitches for the first time this year for Modesto. He is the hard throwing 6'7 300 lber drafted later in the draft last year. 2.0 perfect innings with 3 K's. He will be an interesting one to watch to see if he can develop. Not sure if he was injured, or did extended spring training. Just noticed his name in the box score and clicked on it to see he hasn't pitched before today this year.

Less than trivial trivia: Mariners signed a catcher a couple days ago. BIG BIG NEWS! :|
The Mariners have reportedly signed former Washington State University Cougar C Brennon Kaleiwahea. The Lacey, Washington native started out his collegiate career at WSU before transferring to Tennessee Technological University, where he was a one-man wrecking crew on Ohio Valley Conference opponents.

Kaleiwahea was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cubs last season and posted an 87 wRC+ for the Short Season A Eugene Emeralds.
He'll probably be in Everett frogging it when the season starts for them.

Mallex Smith on fire down in AAA. Let him marinate for a season or two and maybe he'll be good to go.

Hey it worked for Babe Ruth, CC Sabathia and David Wells. Looks like a nasty curve ball, probably get a lot of groundballs with it.

Salter excites me..........in a baseball sort of way. I'm be excited for him until the day JD trades him for Andrew Romine, Zach Duke and Chase De Jong.
