MLB Contest standings
Re: MLB Contest standings
Post a "Pick Em" thread of your own making next year with the format you prefer and then see what happens......
Re: MLB Contest standings
We're at a point now where I'd love to see a player by player, position by position, batter splits / pitcher splits, who's hot / who's not analysis published between The Astros and The Senators.
It's just so easy to give Houston the edge based on how much more poised and loose they ought to be compared to Washington.

Wow. You have put a lot of thought into this.DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:53 pmDT - with private submissions, I would have a chance to win.
Since they're public, HC already knows HF picked Nats, so he can just pick Astros to give himself a chance and then I'm boxed out. I'm not going to pick any team as a measure of protest regarding the rules of the contest. A) we should just fill out the whole bracket to begin with and B) if we're going to do this stupid round by round system we should at least submit our picks via PM and they shouldn't be public until everyone's are submitted.
You said you were going round by round to keep more people in it longer... but it has the reverse effect...it keeps you in shorter because once you miss on an early pick it's more difficult to recover with the other players repicking every round. Say you have an underdog going all the way - then you can make up ground on the leaders, but you can't make up as much ground if players are able to repick and use teams they originally had picked to lose even having the opportunity to pick your longshot team. I don't see how repicking every round is more fun. Filling out the whole bracket and then seeing how you do is more fun. The higher risk/reward factor of picking an underdog is more fun. This is the same as with the NCAA bracket... if you pick a #4 seed to win it all, pretty much if they lose early you are toast... But, if they do keep pushing on you reap the reward as other players aren't able to simply repick and grab your team...You shouldn't be able to pick the Yankees to beat the Astros but then just grab the Astros for the WS... I don't like that format. I would rather have my bracket of the Braves winning it all busted after the DS than have to repick every round for no reason other than to make the game more of a hassle and less interesting. ***My bracket would've been Braves over Twins and most likely dead last, so this is not about me winning - just about everyone having more fun.
I actually considered private picks but it seems the PM option has been disabled for some reason.

I picked Astros cause i think they are the better team, not cause someone else picked the NatsDanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 10:53 pmDT - with private submissions, I would have a chance to win.

Re: MLB Contest standings
Don’t get up on my account, stay seated, I am truly humbled in the presence of such an esteemed group.
Incidentally, Kendrick’s series-winning Slam against LA, convinced me they’d go all the way.
Then they Totally Dominated a Cards team that was Hot down the stretch!
Btw, it’s great that the Astros were knocked off their high horse.
Re: MLB Contest standings
Well done sir! You blew away the field. Truly the Secretariat of baseball prognostication!
