Winker or Teo weren't very good at defense, don't see Dipoto setting it as a priority

I'm thinking that most players and their agents (at least the one's paying attention) see Jerry as a snake oil salesman. Add in the fact that most players would prefer to play for a team that wants to win more than 54% of the time and it's not hard to see why the M's will have to overpay to get any free agents to come their way. Think of it this way- If you were choosing between two jobs and knew that the boss at one of them is sleazy, would you choose to work for him if both jobs paid about the same?
Exactly, he tries to sell that it is tough to get FA hitter to come here for reasons beyond his control and then shits the bed with that inane press conference in which he could have just screamed, "Don't come to Seattle free agents!!!" for an hour and it would have had the same effect.
Nick Catellanos might be on the trade block. Dipoto probably won't want him though since he isn't very good at defense.
According to Baseball Trade Values, Nick Castellanos has a negative trade value of $38.6 million:

Would be a great cost-saving move for a team that hates to spend and depends on finding cheap value...

Of course, Seattle is the last woke team in the world that's going to let that happen.

Looks like the Phils are making Harper a full-time first baseman and moving on from Hoskins. Should we be having any interest in Hoskins?

I’d go to spring training just for the meltdown. His fastball is up to 99. What’s not to like

Hoskins is a better fit than France is currently. That's for sure. However if it prevents us from getting Pete Alonso, then no how, no way. I think Geno's days are numbered. Would love to get a good reliever for Suarez.
