Our biggest addition since the Castillo trade 16 months ago was Teo who put up 1.8 fWAR in 160 games...

Former Mariners Penn Murfee, Austin Nola and Kyle Lewis were non-tendered as well.

The next target for the Mariners might be the non-tendered Nick Senzel, a 28-year-old former top prospect who hits righthanded and strikes out at a below-league-average rate.

Or not. :D

I think Jerry Dipoto values infielders as about as much as Pete Carol values tight ends.
Every once in blue moon they help offensively help but they are there mostly for defense.

 imho undervalued.

Hawks have been running three tight end sets that I thought were considered pretty nice.
What the Seahawks have done with their tight ends group in 2023 is truly the most innovative offensive philosophy that I can think of for a Pete Carroll team since at least Russell Wilson’s zone-read option offense starting in 2012. To be honest, I am not 100-percent certain to what degree Shane Waldron is stealing or borrowing from other offensive coordinators to do what he’s doing, so maybe it is less innovative and more staying on the cutting edge

Could be just me too....but even though they feature 3 tight ends at times I don't see them throw too much to the tight end. It's like they save TE and screens for the playoffs only. Just imho.
Last week I was complaining about it while watching the game with my son and literally Geno threw to Fant.

Morosi

I really don't know what this quote is conveying.
It's in the wrong thread I guess. He's saying he doesn't expect the mariners to be in on the top FA options, if ohtani is first, Bellinger second and so on. Off season is shaping up nicely, just have some patience
OK.
The 3rd, 4th, 5th options as far as bats go are a waste of time. After Ohtani it is a crapshoot.

The whole "We can trade relievers because they are easily replaceable with dumpster dives" schtick is going to work until it doesn't and then when we start blowing a game or two a week because the combined investment in the pen is barely over $5M Jerry is going to look like an even bigger idiot than he does now.
Didn't that happen down the stretch?
Yes!
