Now let's fill in this swiss cheese Mariners roster.
Jerry better be on the phones tonight.
"Hand me downs" is what we get.
Hopefully now things start happening in the market, it's been a boring offseason.
Ohtani to Dodgers!!!!!

Mariner's relieved that he didn't sign their one year offer. LOL.

Re: Ohtani to Dodgers!!!!!
That probably is not far off. And yes, I would have done it. They signed a unicorn contract for the unicorn but if they are only putting 30M down a year and doing the other 400M lottery payment style over the 2034 to 2064 season? Fine by me. LAD took the league to school and Ken R. was saying because they are deferring they don't have to count the 70M AAV towards the luxury tax.

Yes, the Dodgers are still interested in and can still afford Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Uncertain though, how the Ohtani signing may affect their chances, pro or con. The three perceived favorites: 1. Mets 2. Yankees 3. Dodgers

Dodgers lineup. Jerry can't figure out why they would go for another LH Bat in Ohtani when they already have so many. lol

I expect we will see more of these deferrals that will enable large and spendy market teams to tharwt the intentions of the competitive balance tax.
I am sure that what the dodgers and Ohtani did is legal but it doesn't help the talent drain that goes to those teams and makes the competition unbalanced.
Spending doesn't buy titles but it sure makes it a lot easier to win 54 percent every year.
