Nuts no score. First 9th inning batter ropes one out for the Rawhide. Walk-off homerun. 1-0 shutout loss for Modesto.

Final line for Logan Gilbert in his 2nd Cal League start:
5IP, 4H, 0R, 2BB, 5K, HB, 94-61.
Yep, He was one of my should be top 100's but aren't lists /posts. Gilbert profiles as a #1 type. He has the 1st, Rd. hype, size 6'6", and the present grades are already good but should get better:
Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Slider: 55 | Curveball: 50 | Changeup: 55 | Control: 50 | Overall: 50

He sat in the mid-90s, touching 97 mph on the Cape and then saw his velocity dip while he was sick, though it ticked back up closer to Draft time. He's gotten bigger and more physical this offseason, so don't be surprised to see some 70-grade fastballs in there in 2019. He can throw two distinct breaking balls, with the harder slider better than the curve, and can mix in an effective changeup as well.

If that doesn't have you excited about his future I don't know what will. I like Dunn, Justice Sheffield, and Carson but Gilbert is our #1 pitching prospect.

Rainiers bringing a little thunder to Reno, lead the Aces 12-4 in the top of the 6th. Bishop and Long both homered. Long is 3-4, Bishop, Seager is 2-4, Lopes and Negron with 2 hits apiece. Austin Nola continues his torrid pace, is 3-3, b.a. up to .364.
Tommy Milone has gone 5 but has 94 pitches.

Seager playing 3B tonight, was just pinch hit for by Skeeter Ryan Court, who singles to make it 13-4.
14-4 now.

Top of the 9th. Shed Long will be leading off. The pitcher? Anthony Vasquez, former pick by the Seattle Mariners in the 18th round of the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft. His only MLB play was for the M's in 2011. In 7 starts he was 1-6 with an 8.90 ERA. He only gave up 13 home runs in his 7 games.

Shed singles, he's 4-6 now. Wish one of those hits had been here.

Chasen Bradford, Rainiers, is making his 2nd relief appearance as he's on the recovery road from the I.L.
He just gave up a bomb to Kevin Cron, Cron's 2nd of the game. He has 17 home runs and 47 RBI's for Reno this year. Arizona will most likely call him up one day soon.

Poor Rainiers got raided by the M's today and had to dig deep down in the dumpster for relief pitchers today.

Mike Curto tweet:
After losing three relievers in today's roster moves, the Rainiers have added three RHPs from extended spring: Tyler Danish, Carlos Hernandez, and 18-year-old Brazilian Christian Pedrol.

Justusineous Sheffield worries me.
Rainiers are up on the Aces down in Reno 6-3 in the top of the 6th. Tacoma hitters have backed him up with some timely hits and the Aces donated 2 errors so far to help. Sheff has given up 4 hits (2 Kevin Cron doubles) but he has walked 3. On the Season he has 30 K's and 28 walks.
He came here with that reputation but man he has to be fixed. That ratio won't fly up in the bigs.

That ratio won't fly in the big leagues the minor leagues or the little leagues. Somehow he's actually gotten a lot worse since he got here. How is that even possible?

The Paxton return is looking like dogshit at the moment.
