When will orgs stop this asinine love of FB velo?! Logan Evans' arm is going to fall apart in about 24 months' time because of this push for more velocity. Just teach him how to pitch, let him develop his command. Instead of pushing for 99, he should just sit 95 and pitch on the edges, mix in a nasty changeup.

And I am sure that since they pulled Miller after 78 pitches instead of 90-95 pitches last night there is zero chance he will get injured this season....

My big boy Laz with his 1st bomb of the season and just like I predicted that pops his OPS over 1.000. .333/1.167 Nice start. He will be in Everett with the quickness....

Only 1 K in 14 PAs. 3-5 with a 2B and a HR and a walk. And look how fast he gets into 2B on the double.

I wonder why its so hard to hit at Dickey Stephens. Does't look abnormal to me and it is Hot as F in the Summer down there.

It’s harder on righties. Left field down the line is pretty deep and isn’t it longer in RCF with a higher fence? Left field is 30 feet longer than safeco

This off season I made it quite clear my favorite prospect was Lazaro Montes and my least favorite was the over hyped Harry Ford. I am NOT some baseball genius, just someone that looks at numbers instead of believing the BS hype from scouts and "experts".

So far BA and OPS

Ford .000/.111

Montes .438/1.238

You don't see the big power with Ford but his bat is more advanced, his contact and chase rate. Montes has some contact issues.

Montes
The contact skills are the major question mark here. With a big frame and an aggressive swing, Montes does have holes. He ran a contact rate near 69 percent last year, but as the season wore on, he began to see more breaking balls which really ate him up. In September, the swing rate ticked up, as did the chase rate, all while the contact rate dropped below 65 percent, a concerning mark
