He put up 11.5 bWAR in his first two seasons. It shouldn't be surprising. Even this season he is on pace for 3.6 bWAR. I think he will pop over 5 again.

More faith? 73 games is a significant sample and it is reasonable to conclude that there is more to his struggles at the plate than good pitching and/or bad luck. There was a national baseball writer a year ago predicting he would set a new career HR record. He's on pace to hit 16 this year.

It's not pitching or bad luck, it's him playing shitty. The faith is he won't continue to just play shitty. He's proven he can play well with a couple of outstanding seasons. And he's showing it, his numbers have been improving. Look at last season, it was July and August That he took off. I don't see why he couldn't get back to that kind of production this season. Imagine if he had a. 900+ July or August this season.
