Look at it this way. Your not gonna sign all 5 of these guys. Ones gonna have to go. Hancock, Woo, I don't care. Doesn't hurt to make an offer.
I'd sell Woo.

If he can only go 5 innings and needs to be on a constant pitch limit... let him go, secure your 5th spot with a rental, go out and try to win a WS.

That's what I was thinking to. Too reliant on the fastball. They've proven they can develop pitching.

I think Tucker will command a similar value to Robert, and Rooker. And I like the 3.5 years of each better.

Rooker is at 27 FPS which is not bullet fast but not slow either. Hanniger 26.3 FPS, Tucker 26 FPS, Robert is 28.6 FPS which is up there and that would pair well with Julio in the 29's and Raley at 28.8 FPS.

Rooker's advantage is the health, bat, and low $. Rooker is at a 144 OPS+ and slumping :? . But looks to be healthy. And he is an Arby player in 2025 So he is 700K this year pro-rated and will be cheap next year to. But, He does not have a long history of good performance: 137 games of 128 OPS+ last year and a 144 in 59 games this year as a 29 year old. And, he has 86Ks in 59 games  . He sucks in the outfield on D, could we have him train up on 1B? He is 29 and should be valued as a 29 year old vs his last 2 years if he was 23.

Robert Jr. has speed. He is right behind Raley for sprint speed.
Julio is tied for 9th fastest in MLB 29.7 FPS,
Luke Raley 28.8 FPS is tied with Mickey Moniak (CF) and others for # 48
Robert 28.6 FPS tied for 62nd fastest in MLB is a fast outfield

All the three OFs provide + base running and range in the out field.

Jazz C is a CF with a 116 OPS+ and on pace for about a 25 HR/SB season 2.5 years remaining and 28.5 FPS good for #74 fastest

Rentals
Boston's
Tyler Oneal 151 OPS+ 27.4 FPS
JD Martinez has a 147 OPS+ bat, but is slow 25.7 FPS but the bat!

Yeah I could really care less about FPS I wan't the best hitter. if you want FPS see if DK Metcalf wants to try and be Bo Jackson.

Exactly! Can we trade for Tony Gwynn, Steven Kwan, John Olerud, and Luis Arraez?

The lowest batting average in MLB history for a team that has won a division is .230.

The M's are currently hitting .220.

True, especially with the new playoff format. Simple Supply and demand.
I agree with all of this. But, do you really think if you were the Astro's GM, PBO, Active ownership group you would weigh in on the highest 3 offers ( I looked on the trade calc site and I saw Tucker's 1.5 years valued at 43.4M)
Seattle has 7 top 100's but none of them are Julio's super high value yet but I am untouchable on Montez, Colt Emerson, and Logan Evans.

Here is the scenario Texas gets healthy and closes the gap on WC and division and Texas offers:

Texas only has 1 prospect in the top 100 so Texas does a volume package.
#76 SS 6'4" Sebastion Wolcott. Plus maybe like the Astros pick of another 5 prospects in a depleted system, Maybe you have one of the youngster players as part of the package: Evan Carter, whatever . Mix and match and the Rangers top offer = 50Million

Seattle offers: Haniger -10M ? I don't know if that is accurate but close? and then Say Cole Young and Ford SS/C and in many rankings in the top 2 or at least top 6? And then Uber athletic but injured Farmelo 1st Rd. pick, and then another couple of top 30's value 55M

#3 an NL team offers #88 ranked prospect, and 4 org. top 10-30 guys. with a value of 36M. Do you think the Astros are like Nah, give me the NL package and at least 1 less top 100 type if not 2.
Why are you talking about the Texas Rangers as a team that would be trying to land Tucker when they are 7 games under .500 and are trying to shed payroll?
It is right there in the post they "got back in the race for illustrating the silly nature of they will have to pay more because they are in the division." The last 2 days the M's have lost 2 games to the Astros and 1.5 to the Rangers.

Right now they are good and cheap. We are depending on them to keep winning. If you rob Peter to pay Paul. Then you have a scenario where you give up a 700K guy to add say like Tucker who is at 12M this year and 20M+/- next year.

Hancock could Band-aid you to Logan Evans.

The only one I would move for a bat is Miller and that would only be for Rooker.

I think Rooker has tailed off significantly. Tucker is 4+ tools.
