It isn't surprising. Julio is still developing as a hitter, but he's doing it at the major league level. To a certain extent you can say that about almost any player, but Julio is very clearly not a finished product at the plate. We can see this in his approach and his at bats, and of course, he's going against the best pitchers in the world that all have access to advanced analytics that tell them exactly how to pitch to his weaknesses, and he's playing half his games in the worst ballpark in the world for hitters, and he's on a team and in an organization that is profoundly confused about how to coach and develop hitters, and this is all happening in one of the worst league-wide seasons for offense ever.
Idk... superstars don't need "development" at this age man... they have a little growing pains at first and then they go off.

They don't dip to .650 OPS's in their third year.

He's a .275 hitter with some power and good speed.

He is NOT a superstar. Doesn't have it upstairs for that AND I don't think he takes the game seriously.

His numbers have gone down each yea in the league which would indicate he doesn’t know how to adjust or can’t. Let’s see what Gar can do for him.

He’s clearly had a down year, and when it looked like he might turn it around he got injured. Hope he figures out what was wrong in the offseason. Maybe Edgar will be a good influence on him the rest of the year?
He had a HORRID K AFTER Edgar was hired. He might need a brain transplant.

If you cant recognize a slider 3 feet off the plate at this stage... Im not sure there's much to adjust to.

Eye of the tiger.
Send him down to D.R. for the winter to get that hunger back.
Maybe American money and white girlfriend has been a major distraction for the 23 yrd old.
The league adjusted to him. He has yet to adjust to the adjustment.
Stupid injuries didn't help either.
Edgar will fix him like Apollo fixed Rocky. ;)

Recently he thought he was being thrown at and then had a serious face and focus I haven't seen in a while.
That's the look I want to see from Julio boom or bust for the kind of money and status he has all the freak time.
Eye of the tiger.

Must be the first player ever to have a horrid K. He’s doomed.

What does "superstar" have to do with anything? He's a player. The game doesn't care what labels have been put on him.
