Things to REALLY like about this season
Thought I'd do this as this season really tapped into our inner Seth.
Victor Robles: I can't think of anyone else who ever came to Seattle and greatly improved as an offensive threat. Hopefully this is at least close to the player he is now.
Cal Raleigh: 34 home runs, 100 RBI, caught the most innings in MLB. Far and away the best catcher we've ever had.
Logan Gilbert: #1 in WHIP and innings pitched.
Brian Woo: 2.89 ERA.
Our starting pitching: our worst regular starter was Luis Castillo with an ERA of 3.64 and a WHIP of 1.17. Great job by those five guys.
Do have to give props to Julio for showing up down the stretch even though he flushed the first 3/4 of the season down the toilet. Good to see he's not guaranteed to suck going forward.

The health of the starting 5, during this epidemic of so many going down elsewhere, was pretty impressive.
And they all throw strikes.
Say what you want, the organization has really developed solid pitching.
Including the bullpen.

Good stuff, this is the first offseason I can recall where we don't have gaping holes in the corner outfield

I still dont buy the "best rotation in baseball" stuff.
They'd be lucky to be called "average" outside of T-Mobile. (Mariners pitching is ranked 18th in Away games by ERA)
Here are their Home/Away splits.
Can you guys tell which is which? Lol.

Re: Things to REALLY like about this season
Jorge Polanco ends the season as a 20 homerun (per 600 PA) player in Seattle.
(16/469)*600 = 20.47
(16/469)*600 = 20.47

The Best thing about this rotation is other than Castillo, none of them have reached their prime in terms of age. Its completely reasonable to expect all four of the young guys to get a little better over the next couple of years. They absolutely have to spend some money and or trade prospects to get some bats. Wasting a rotation like this would be a terrible thing.

Buhner only had 99 plate appearances under his belt when we got him.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 12:05 pmJay Buhner?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:01 pmThought I'd do this as this season really tapped into our inner Seth.

Okay, trying to think of a position player that greatly improved after coming to Seattle. You have a better memory than I do David, there's has to have been someone seems like
