I'll never understand why anyone would want to own a sports team when they clearly and obviously don't give a damn about winning and possess no civic pride whatsoever.
"The <insert city name here> <insert team name here> will make me a metric shit ton of money. "

Seattle just happened to have a team available for purchase.
I understand that, but he's a billionaire. There are so many other ways, and much more passive ways of making money than to embarrass himself and an entire region. He has more money than he'll ever need, his kids will ever need, his grandkids will ever need, their grandkids will ever need, etc etc.

Owning a professional sports team makes you a very public figure, good or bad. He has the chance to be a civic hero and forever be revered in the region. But instead of being a civic hero, he's become one of the most hated people in the region. And the vitriol is becoming worse every time that greedy bastard opens his mouth.

As I have said he prefers the slaps on the back in the Boardroom from fellow owners after showing Profits exceeding expectations than the admiration of millions of ordinary people that love their team. He is a fucking demon.

Am I the only person taking crazy pills...

Now I don't like Stanton... but the quotes from this article are literally from an interview with Stanton done in JUNE. At the end of June the M's were in 1st place, 10ish games over .500 depending on the date.

How is nobody seeing this and understanding that comments made in June might just reflect what he thinks was producing success? And it's no different than anything he's echoed all along so I'm not sure about the outrage.

From what I gather, he hasn't spoken since the M's have missed the playoffs. Now he likely hasn't changed his tune, but what if he has loosened up since they've missed the playoffs again?

Do we have the dumbest fanbase in sports I swear. Like seriously. I feel like a majority of the fans could give 2 shits about the game being played. Just another reason not to attend a game ever. If people really cared they'd stop showing up, blowing money on stupid shit like Jerseys & bobbleheads. Fans clearly don't care whether or not they win or lose & it shows. Honestly would we be better off without them or no?

Brain dead. That's the only logical conclusion for why Stanton and Dipshit would continue to alienate this fanbase year after year. A fanbase that was promised and deserves so much more.
You have to realize that we are not the "fanbase". The fan base is the hydroplane, salmon race, hot dogs from heaven crowd that come out to drink a bunch of bears in the bullpen and drop a couple hundred bucks in the team shop. They Sold 2.5 Million tickets this year. The "fanbase" is not alienated at all. Its just us fringe hardcore fans that are alienated.

It just seems like we are being set up for more of the same. With potentially Alonzo, Goldsmith and Walker out there we could make a run.

This exactly.

Spend 5 minutes on Twitter and you'll find 100 fans who love Julio's smile and thinks it makes up for lack of production.
