I don't think there's one to add
Re: Looks like Turner and both Mitches with be on the OD roster
Personally I like wOBA to determine what class of bat a guy is.
Lowe and Bohm are in the same class as Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez.
The real problem is that there are such better bats out there-
Lowe and Bohm obviously look better than Rojas or Moore would, but doesn't really fix our lineup at all imo.

Bregman's too old to consider at this point imo.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 11:10 pmThey are above Bregman.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 10:47 pmPersonally I like wOBA to determine what class of bat a guy is.

Re: Looks like Turner and both Mitches with be on the OD roster
To be fair, if you're in the top 70... you're a top 3 bat in most lineups in baseball.
M's aren't looking at acquiring Bohm and Lowe to be superstars. They're acquiring them to be 3-4 WAR players who have limited control. And the compensation will reflect that.
If Bohm hits .270/.330/.420 with 15 homers and plays avg D... none of us are complaining.
If Lowe hits .240/.330/.440 with 25 homers and plays avg D... none of us are complaining.

I have been told that bWAR sucks for position players.harmony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 5:03 amFWIW Alec Bohm has posted 3.8 bWAR in 599 career games, including 3.0 bWAR in 143 games this year.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:17 pmI am fine with keeping Garver as a base back-up catcher. I would be open to getting him ABs if earned at 1B/DH.
Hanniger bounce back?
If they got Lowe @ 2B, Bohm @ 3B, and JT @ 1B/DH I would be ok with it. But any of this BS where they use utilities as starting 3B platoon BS is beyond pathetic. It is planning to fail.
Josh Rojas, who is two years older than Bohm, has posted 6.2 bWAR in 569 career games, including 2.2 bWAR in 142 games this year.
This year's bWAR of 3.0 was Bohm's career high while Rojas posted a career high of 3.1 bWAR in 125 games in 2022.
Bohm and Rojas each have two years of team control, Bohm with a projected 2025 salary of $8.1 million and Rojas with a projected 2025 salary of $4.3 million.

The pen wasn't good last season. No chance he trades one of the only good ones.

True, but that's kind of like people using the argument that "most teams don't have a good DH."Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:25 amTo be fair, if you're in the top 70... you're a top 3 bat in most lineups in baseball.

"No, but most good teams do."
All 8 teams that made the Division Series had at least one player with a Top 60 wOBA.
LAD: 4
NYY: 2
CLE: 3
NYM: 2
DET: 1
PHI: 4 (Bohm was 4th highest on the team)
KCR: 2
SDP: 3
The Mariners problem is they had 0 on the list, and they're just adding more #6 hitters to a team that has no MOTO bats.

Alec Bohm fares better with fWAR.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 1:02 amI have been told that bWAR sucks for position players.harmony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 5:03 amFWIW Alec Bohm has posted 3.8 bWAR in 599 career games, including 3.0 bWAR in 143 games this year.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 11:17 pmI am fine with keeping Garver as a base back-up catcher.
