When you think about it saying a player should be a unanimous HOF inductee doesn't make sense. Either you think he should be a yes or a no. If you think he should get in but not be unanimous then you think some people should not vote for him for some reason? Nonsensical.

Saying you would vote for him inherently means that you think everyone should vote for them but civilized rational people don't get angry because a complete stranger doesn't agree with them and respect their rationale and decision.

I don't think anybody is going to get angry, buster Olney says he should be, I doubt it happens. What's so special about Mariano Rivera that's he's the only unanimous inductee... But I guess everyone gets angry about everything these days

You must not be on X. People were losing their minds last week at anyone that didn't agree that Cal got snubbed for the Silver Slugger award with Perez winning it instead with a much higher OPS. They said that Call caught more games so he should win on offensive award and anyone that didn't agree were lunatics! lol

That is my point. Saying he should be unanimous is not only saying you would vote for him, it is saying that anyone who doesn't is an idiot.

Just bizarre that a reliever is the one to crack the unanimous code.

I Don't think Olney promoting ichiro for unanimous induction is calling someone an idiot that doesn't agree with him

That's what he has to say about it
Buster Olney

Ichiro should be a unanimous HOF selection. Here's part of his resume:
.311 lifetime avg.
Played his first MLB game at 27 years, 162 days old, and finished with 3,089 hits.
Led the majors in hits in seven different seasons.
10 Gold Gloves
438 steals
10 All-Star appearances
I'd think it being a strong field makes ichiro being unanimous a lot less likely

Why doesn't he just say he will vote for him then. Ok, not an idiot but he is saying they are wrong. If I was on the fence it would lead me to vote no whenever some one said that.

It is just like when someone calls a person a hater if they don't think a player that they love is as good as they do. I'm just sick of the attempted thought control by people that think they are smarter than everyone else.

Jay Jaffee who is actually smarter than most people despite being a lib actually conducted thorough analysis when he promoted Edgar and didn't say dumb shit like he should be unanimous.
