I am sorry for your loss. Nix ain't it imo.
Who knows. It’s 1 game and he has almost no help from the run game. Geno looked like shit too until he had a bit of a run game to help him out, and he’s a veteran. I wasn’t super excited about him, but I’ll give Payton the benefit of the doubt for now. I also know you are biased against Oregon too :)
I am not a big Geno fan either and yes I would like Jerry to the the GM of Oregon's Checkers team. Match made in Heaven. I hope Utah gets an NFL team.
That’s a long way from now. MLB they have a chance. NFL probably not.

I really didn’t watch much of Nix in college. I like what I saw in preseason. He was a bit shell shocked early, but hopefully he settled in at the end. Won’t look great next week against Pitt either, but I don’t think you can glean much from 1 bad game. QBs need those, and they need to learn from them

So close to a 3 1/2 back in wc. Just need twins to keep losing.
Need to go at least 12-6, probably 13-5 to finish the season
I agree , not sure they have that in them tho
The Twins are on pace for 86 wins

The M's would have to go 14-4 to get to 87 wins
SD X2, Tex X4, NYY X3, Tex X3, Hou X3 A's X3 (Seager is out for 1st series at least)
and
That includes the Twins only going 10-9 in their last 19 games to finish 86-76
Twins remaining (LAA, Cin, Cle, Bos, Mia, and finish against Balt) But that Baltimore series may not mean anything as far as seeding goes so you don't know what to expect there.

He has talent, fast white guy number one. I rational hate him because he is a Duck. I know everyone hates the Astros but I hate the ducks so much more.

Hmm, I will admit to you that I have started to hate CBS/PEAcock. CBS is the one station that my location can't get from the "Air" Digital antenata. Wazzu/UW next week is on Peacock. FFS!

This the fourth full game I have seen him play. Almost always dink and dunk. 3 yards per attempt. I agree with Michael here.

Seems like a reach for the Broncos, see if Payton knows what he is doing
.As a thrower, Nix is a mixed bag. He has a loose arm and can air it out deep down the field well enough. That looseness even applies to Nix's ability to throw on the run, where he really shines. However, Nix's velocity wavers outside the numbers. He can drive it over the middle, but maintaining good speed and arc to the outside is a struggle at times.

It's also hard to get a sense for where Nix is at in terms of being an NFL processor. Oregon's offense lightened the load on him mentally by spamming screens, run-pass options and simple vertical concepts. Even a lot of Oregon's more traditional passing concepts were made easier to read out and trigger on by their use of spacing and abusing the college hashes, which won't exist for him in the NFL.

Yep, exact same profile too. I mean, John didn't have enough arm to throw downfield either!

Completely different eras. Elway's numbers would make him one of the worst QB's in the league right now. Maybe compare what Nix did to some recent rookies? Comparing Elway and Nix is pretty much the same effort in futility that comparing Geno to Dave Krieg or Jim Zorn.

I was just comparing their first pro game. Elway in his first pro game as a Bronco went 1-8 for 14 yards, got sacked four times, fumbled, got called for intentional grounding, and at one point lined up behind the guard, he got pulled at halftime. It wasn't a high bar for Nix to get over. The bronco did end up winning against the Steelers in Pittsburgh

Thought that kinda interesting, in terms of a NFL thing, Nix not looking so bad
Nix has been flush with fantasy points recently, going over 20 in four of his last seven games. His legs have been the headline surrounding his FF success, but the Broncos rookie QB has also been succeeding as a passer. In fact, Nix ranks fifth at the position in pass attempts (32.5 per game) and first among QBs in deep ball throws (4.7 per game).

He has also demonstrated a penchant for converting in the red area of the field, tossing 13 TDs since Week 5, which ranks inside the top-five signal-callers in the NFL.
