Amazing they haven't been able to do anything with the 8th best record in the last 4 years.harmony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 2:20 amDuring Jerry Dipoto's three-and-half years in Anaheim, the Angels posted MLB's seventh-best cumulative record at 306-259 while over the same period the Mariners posted MLB's 20th-best record at 269-295.bpj wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 10:58 pmAnd the year before that they needed "base sweepers".
And of course guys who control the zone. But that wasn't enough, so they were forced to dominate the zone.
You're right, it's just more word salad from the master saboteur, Dipoto.
Sent by the Angels to keep the Mariners in perpetual mediocrity.
Since Dipoto's arrival in Seattle, the Mariners have posted MLB's 11th-best record at 701-655 while over the same period the Angels have posted MLB's 22nd-best record at 618-738.
Over the past four seasons the Mariners have posted MLB's eighth-best record at 353-295 while the Angels have MLB's 23rd-best record at 286-362.
If they'd ever made that one or two final moves, they'd have been there.
But Dipoto always pulls up short like a saboteur. Fails to make the last move or two that take us from bubble team to actual contender.
