LOL It is mind numbing when you think about it. It's this years version of we need to cut down on Ks.
And the year before that they needed "base sweepers".

And of course guys who control the zone. But that wasn't enough, so they were forced to dominate the zone.

You're right, it's just more word salad from the master saboteur, Dipoto.

Sent by the Angels to keep the Mariners in perpetual mediocrity.
During Jerry Dipoto's three-and-half years in Anaheim, the Angels posted MLB's seventh-best cumulative record at 306-259 while over the same period the Mariners posted MLB's 20th-best record at 269-295.

Since Dipoto's arrival in Seattle, the Mariners have posted MLB's 11th-best record at 701-655 while over the same period the Angels have posted MLB's 22nd-best record at 618-738.

Over the past four seasons the Mariners have posted MLB's eighth-best record at 353-295 while the Angels have MLB's 23rd-best record at 286-362.
Amazing they haven't been able to do anything with the 8th best record in the last 4 years.

If they'd ever made that one or two final moves, they'd have been there.

But Dipoto always pulls up short like a saboteur. Fails to make the last move or two that take us from bubble team to actual contender.

Over the past four seasons the Mariners have the fourth-best cumulative record in a league that now sends six teams to the postseason. The M's have landed one postseason berth, finished one game back of the final Wild Card slot twice and two games back once.

Next year the Mariners will likely return their core, losing only the likes of Jorge Polanco, Josh Rojas and Luis Urias (plus midseason acquisitions Justin Turner and Yimi Garcia).

All teams should look to improve but the Mariners can also hope for better fortunes.

You don't "hope" for better fortunes.

You make better fortunes.

Dipoto is a pussy who if he had any spine... would go public with his frustrations over budget restraints. Instead, he's just as complicit. World-class snake oil salesman.

Instead of using his snake oil sales skills to try to convince Stanton to increase payroll he rolls the bullshit down hill to the fanbase with moronic euphemisms and half truths trying to convince them the org is much smarter than them.

Have you been in Seattle recently? He is smarter than most of the Seattle fanbase.....just not smarter than anyone who can analyze just how full of bull Jerry is

Heck, most of the people on this board, don't live in the city any longer.....for that reason alone this forum is 100x smarter than Jerry is

Does the two-year, $34 millon contract 31-year-old right-hander Frankie Montas signed with the New York Mets increase the trade value of Luis Castillo?

Seattle's 31-year-old right-hander has three years and $73.5 million remaining on his contract (with a vesting option for a fourth year).

More about Hitting at T Mobile

https://sports.mynorthwest.com/1790857/ ... s-hitters/
Good to see that going into year 10, Dipoto is getting an idea what types of hitters succeed at T-Mobile.
That was my exact thought as I was reading that article. As DT likes to say, you can't make this shit up.

The fact that it took him 10 years to figure out what types of hitters would be best suited for their home park should be exhibit number 9999 showing how and why Dipoto is inept and should be replaced immediately. It only took the Angels 3 1/2 years to realize that. We're going on year 10 and counting. Smfh. Of course, if we didn't have one of the worst owners in all of sports, we wouldn't be having this discussion because he would have been gone long ago.

I really hope I don't come back as a Mariners fan in my next life. It's a curse! I think I've paid my dues.

So in 2006 Frank Thomas moves on from the White Sox to the Athletics where he puts up a .926 OPS.

The Mariners see that and they say, MmmMmmm, you know what we need at DH? A little bit of Jose Vidro.... who was coming off a .743 OPS and 96 wRC+ season as a 2B.

314 /381 /.394/ .775. in 2007, heck even being a light hitter I think I'd settle for that these days
