Santana signing within the next week.

Great if we sign him but this is just embarrassing. Soto signs for more than 100x the contract before we sign him.

Yay... we get a 45 year old 1B because Julio needs his pacifier...

Ranger's traded some blah prospects for Burger. I am sure that is not going to sting one bit.

I am of the opinion that our offseason will project us to have a 2025 DOA.

So instead of going after Alonso or Walker, we dumpster-dive AGAIN. Santana? SERIOUSLY?!?

Look, he had a nice resurgence in 2024, but let's be real, he wasn't THAT good, he's 38 and he's going to be six months older between the end of the 2024 season and the start of the 2025 season. Do people NOT understand the aging process in baseball?

Mark my words, he's going to hit under .200 for us and maybe 10 home runs before we DFA him in July.

This franchise sucks.

Not a fan either when there are better players available.

Stanton is worth 1.1 Billion. That is 1,100 million Dollars. but they can't afford a mid 30s 1B with a 800 OPS.

Okay, so just thinking out loud here. If this report is true, that would indicate that Casas for Castillo isn't really who Dipoto is going after? Although even with Santana and Raley (who is actually a better OF than a 1B), they could still make it work even with adding Casas by rotating them through DH and giving Raley time in the OF.

I agree with DavidGee24 though. I think Santana would be another Garver or Haniger type bat. He's obviously in the twilight of his career, and T-Mobile is not going to help him. Not a fan if that's what they decide to do.

I see a lot of Red Sox fans on X expressing concern that they're going to trade Casas for Castillo. I think it would be a great trade for the Mariners if Dipoto can pull it off. Not just by getting an up-and-coming and cost-controlled player in Casas, but freeing up a lot of capitol to fill the other infield holes, mainly 3rd base. And if they can possibly sign Sasaki to replace Castillo, that would be a great start to the offseason.

Even if they just invested the profits back into the team and not use a dime of their own money, they would have more than enough payroll available to sign a couple legitimate middle of the order bats that this team so desperately needs and hasn't had in years. And they would make their millions or tens of millions in franchise equity when it came time to cash in.

No one is asking them to spend and go broke like a drunken sailor. Just INVEST in your fucking team the way any intelligent owner would, which would greatly increase the value of your franchise and make you even more money on your investment you fucking morons.

It still frosts my ass that when they had their "step back", they promised that when the time was right, they were going to open up the purse strings to build around the core and get us to a WS. It was all lies!! BLATANT FUCKING LIES FOR EVERYONE TO SEE!! They saved millions upon millions, and instead of investing it back into the team, all they did was pocket the money.

I gotta stop talking about this. All it does is make my blood boil.
