I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DIDN'T TENDER HIM!!!D-train wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:55 pmLuis Urias!tehmc wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:01 pmI wonder how its going to work out, they've said they are probably going to move Devers from 3B but that pushes Casas off of 1B and it doesn't look like they have a 3B to replace him with. I'm just assuming Casas or Devers will be in the deal.
Casas is young and has potential
Devers is a FA after 2033 making $30 mil a year
Sounds like it would make more sense to trade Devers and keep Casas. I could also be on board with an Abreu deal and then trading Arozarena to free up more.

Raley to OF, Randy to DH or traded. Good to work on multiple deals and go with the first one that happens.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:06 pmHow can "the Mariners are getting close to signing Carlos Santana" ... "the Mariners have had conversations about Christian Walker" ... and "the Mariners are possibly trading Castillo to the Red Sox for Triston Casas" all be posted within 2 hours of each other?
Luke Raley is still a Mariner.

I'm talking about what he means to that franchise. They aren't trading him off, they are going to add pieces around him. They don't need to dump Devers to find money to sign Bergman. They aren't the mariners, they are the red Soxtehmc wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:48 pmTrading Devers is nothing like trying to trade Judge, Judge was worth 10.8 WAR last year, Devers was worth 3.7. If you can get similar production from Casas at 1B as Devers at 1B but for $29 million less why wouldn't you trade Devers and use that money to sign Bregman?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:23 pmTrade Devers? That be like the Yankees deciding to trade Judge. Yeah he's making $30 mil a season because of how desperate the red Sox were to keep a home grown talent. They are actually trying to be competitive. They would move him to first in order to sign Bergmantehmc wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:01 pmI wonder how its going to work out, they've said they are probably going to move Devers from 3B but that pushes Casas off of 1B and it doesn't look like they have a 3B to replace him with. Red Sox have fans they have to answer to
The timing of a megadeal with Devers couldn’t be better, as the team’s fanbase was reeling after Xander Bogaerts slipped away last month as a free agent to the Padres on an 11-year, $280 million contract. With Bogaerts off to the West Coast, the Red Sox faced a possible identity crisis in the coming years as to who the face of the franchise would be.

Divish is such a wiener...
Always toeing the line between calling out ownership but then pivoting to "I don't do opinion" and "if I was mean to them, they wouldn't listen anyway."
He protects this organization and Dipoto just as much as he criticizes because he'd never threaten his job.
Just stop going on there and pretending that you're outraged for the fans. If you were, you'd get rid of all the Drayer in you.

Would love to see the M's get Triston Casas + Wilyer Abreu in return for Castillo + Arozarena + a couple guys like Johnny Farmelo and Logan Evans, plus a relief pitcher.
Re: Breaking: Castillo on the Block
Red Sox just traded for the white Sox pitcher… they probably are not in the market for Castillo anymore
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

We have a pretty weak DH situation if they don't add a 1B in my opinion.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:06 pmHow can "the Mariners are getting close to signing Carlos Santana" ...
