So, this means Garver is gone?
Probably going to run Garver back out as everyday DH.
You have to. He's making another $24 mil over the next two years. I don't see him being anywhere near as bad as last season. That was a total anomaly.
One more season at $12 mil

You don't HAVE to do squat. It's called "sunken cost". The money's gone. And unfortunately, there's a point where it's better for the team to pay the player to NOT play for them.

2023 was not an anomaly. Garver had been 0-32 lifetime at T-Mobile prior to 2023. Did you know that? His season went pretty much the way one would expect.

Oh, he's also 33 and you know what's going to happen between the end of last season and the beginning of next season? He's going to age another 1/2 year.

Bro, you sound like those fans that Darren makes fun of on X.

It's Morosi but at least it's fun.
Just because it is the latest Meh rumor let's play around with it a bit.

M's get Josh Naylor 1B 7.8M trade calc.

Cleveland gets 3B #15 Ben Williamson 7M, and LHP #25 Reid VanScoter 1.8M

The thing is he has been a decent bat, (not great) the last three years and I don't see a lot of value there. He is owed 12M for 2025 according to projections. Last year was his 1st year with more than 20 HR (31). But he had the lowest OPS+ of the last 3 years: going 121, 130, 118 OPS+.

He is a lefty which has advantages in Safeco. He also is only going to be 28 so you could sign him to an extension if he proves up to hitting in T-Mobile, Safeco, you know what I mean.

I see an avenue where we could have traded for Burger, traded Luis C. through the Redsox for B Lowe, Traded prospects for Josh Naylor, and signed a back-end type of BP arm.

But, FK no! JD, has to pretend to have an embarrassment of riches with his rotation and get schmoozed by every media member who has no self-respect in the land.

meh

He kind of seems like the type of hitter Dip would drool over - an all or nothing type hitter. Definitely a disturbing trend from his previous seasons numbers to this years - just about every metric went the wrong direction except for HR/RBI. I worry he could be another Suarez type of bat - either hits a HR or strikes out for 3 days in a row.

Guess they didn't learn their lesson the last few years with Jose Abreu.

Glad to see Walker signing elsewhere.
