They've already missed the possible ungrades, like Walker, Carlos Santana. I doubt Vlad is a fallback plan
Plan V.
Sounds like a morning after injection for an STD.

Agree - it's a simple recipe.

DFA Haniger. Eat the money for a year.

Go hard for Bregman - make it the one, big signing the M's do - they missed out on lots of big names the last 5 years. Suck it up and go big or go home.

Trade for Vlad. Two prospects. Offer an extension. Olson got 8 years and $168MM.. Do 5 years and $150MM with options.

They can keep Castillo and have a fearsome rotation.

C Cal Raleigh
1B Vlad
2B Solano
3B Alex Bregman
SS J.P. Crawford
LF Randy Arozarena
CF Julio Rodríguez
RF Victor Robles
DH Luke Raley
I saw the same scenario as I was going through the pearly gates. Maybe I was going through hell . Probably just a bad dream. Oh well

I don't know how optimistic I could be if he said no to Houston at 156Million. That is turning down what was probably 6 X 26M for a guy that is coming off a good but not great year with 4.1 WAR with good D. But he only hit for a 117 OPS+ and is 5 years removed from 2 Allstar and top 5 MVP years. I don't know if someone is going to top that. I could be wrong, a similar player would have been SF signing Chappman to 169M.

Got nothing to add other than the theme song for this thread:

Only instead of De Plane! De Plane! It's De Solano! De Solano!
Was that Justin Hollander ringing the bell and yelling De Solano! De Solano!?

I have a strong feeling that Tattoo's physical stature was a good metaphor for Justin Hollander's level of Power within the FO.

Bregman sucks in T-mobile. There is no way he would sign here unless it was overwhelmingly his best offer. And honestly I am not sure I would want him.
He has a .725 OPS at T-mobile park. Do you want to spend 25-30 Million a year for that?

M's pitching has be 9th at home in ERA during his career so probably lower than I was expect but no a lot lower....Age is the bigger factor not to mention I despise the guy for some reason. lol
