ummm Jake Meyers is in like his 4th season and he was rocking a career 80 ops+ coming into May when he turned things on. But sure, keep playing up this narrative that the M's suck in every regard. Can't develop talent, can't play winning baseball, blah blah blahSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 6:29 pmYeah, Mariner fans are expected to be all excited about a couple of prospects/rookies with OPS's in the .500s or low .600s. Meanwhile, Houston keeps churning out productive bat after productive bat from their farm system.
Did we finally find a team we can beat GT 7-6

When you slide you have a better chance to avoid the tag.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:46 pmActually you can't assume that. You're faster to any base, home or first or any other, by running through it, not sliding. Now, obviously he should have slid but let's just give credit where its due -- that was one helluva throw by Cruz -- accurate and 105 mph in the air. So suck it up and move on. No blame.

That is true as well. Ughhh Julio doubles and we still can't score ughhhhhh come on getting chances early to get a run off this guy!!!!Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:59 pmWhen you slide you have a better chance to avoid the tag.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:46 pmActually you can't assume that. Not arguing that. Simply stating a fact that sliding does in fact slow you down. We don't know that JP would have scored if he slid. His sliding isn't exactly Trea TurnerSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:59 pmWhen you slide you have a better chance to avoid the tag.

Also, Houston is a far more friendly hitter's park than SEA. Probably plays into Cam Smith's early successSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 6:29 pmYeah, Mariner fans are expected to be all excited about a couple of prospects/rookies with OPS's in the .500s or low .600s. I doubt there is another team in all of MLB that has been less successful at developing position players than the Mariners over the past 30 years. That's just a fact. They've done well with starting pitching lately which is why they have been able to play slightly better than .500 ball, but there's no reason to think that will continue. Most people would say the window is closing.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 8:58 pmummm Jake Meyers is in like his 4th season and he was rocking an 80 ops+ coming into May when he turned things on. And most people are retarded. Besides, who gives a fuck what fans/analysts/media believe about a team's window? The pitching isn't going anywhere. This team has probably a 10-year window in my eyes -- and yes, you can all go ahead and call me retarded for that assertion. Whatever. My opinion doesn't make it true and neither does anyone else's.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:08 pm

I think we can look across baseball and see failed prospects, failed draft picks in every organization. The fact of the matter is this sport isn't easy. So many players who starred in college or starred in the minors fail at the MLB level. It just is what it is.
The Ms developed Ketel Marte, traded his ass away and now look at him. But the M's never get credit for that development. He was signed at 16. Spent 6 yrs I believe in the M's system.
