Julio's home OPS this season is .582

Post by DavidGee24 » Fri Aug 01, 2025 7:00 pm

I had no idea that it was this bad. He's hitting .209 at home with only four of his 19 home runs. Barely above the Mendoza Line.

We have a good number of players with home/road splits that are slanted favorably towards road games, but this is insane. By comparison, Ben Williamson has a .580 OPS at home. Seriously, Julio's OPS at home is TWO points higher than that of a guy who rarely ever hits the ball over the co-ed line.

Our one other regular right-handed hitter, Arozarena, has an .807 OPS at home, so what's Julio's problem? He has an OPS of .883 on the road so at least he can hit away from T-Mobile.

He has 19 HR. Does he have 15 on the road?

Someone tell Julio swinging for the fences on every first pitch is not a good hitting strategy.

Run the home/away numbers career. Are they less pronounced? Maybe he will average back to the mean or however they say it. He's been hot. The whole team has gotta be fired up with the lineup improvements. Now, everyday they wake up believing they can be World Series Champions and bring the first ever title to Seattle.

Having more good hitters will reduce the pressure on everyone. There will be more good pitches to hit. Nobody likes being pitched around.

Massive Julio hot streak oncoming. Starts tonight.

They are less pronounced in prior years, but this year the only time he gets hot is in the road and then he comes home and faceplants like he did last night.

As for "other good hitters in the lineup" he's had top-three in MLB lineup protection all season in Cal, so that one goes out the window. Otherwise, hopefully you're right.

0-4 tonight, nothing even close to a hit, so now his home OPS is in the .570s...and yet we bat him third where he kills the heart of the order. Is Mariner management unaware of this?

Why haven't you been continuing your updates on Julio's performance at home?

The weird thing is that he had an .892 OPS at home his rookie year and has seriously regressed every year since.

It makes no sense really.
