What was up with Cal? 5 Ks and the first 2 were both swinging at 3 pitches well out of the strike zone.

Julio 1-13 in this series. Gosh, there's a surprise.

This was a game that the Rump Rangers won by pure luck and not by actual baseball. The league should declare this one a no-contest and replay it. I'd petition if I were the Mariners just to embarrass them. Seriously, DO IT.
He should probably sit tomorrow. I took a look at his AB's and he should have walked at least 4 out of his 5 plate appearances. Of course, if he had just walked in that first AB he would have gotten better pitches in subsequent AB's and might have gotten some hits. But he told them in that first AB that he would just swing at garbage and so that's what they gave him.

Anyway, it looks like a textbook case of a guy needing a day off. Let Garver catch another game and someone else DH.
I'd bet he's embarrassed at what he did today and won't do it again. I mean, he is the MLB home run leader so he could well come out tomorrow and murder the ball. Not to mention playing Garver twice in a row including tomorrow against de Grom? No way.

Oh, and TLO Idaho, you're up! Let's get you over. 500

Its called plate discipline. The more you see the better. Also if Castillo hits his spot to Higashioka he probably doesn't hit that HR that barely cleared the fence. Again this modern day of pitching. They just wanna throw everything through a brick wall. Hit your spot that's why the catcher sets up there. Take something off. There's no reason a change up needs to be 90 plus. Loosen your grip or tighten it. Why these guys can't hit their spot is beyond me.

Swinging out of pitches out of the zone. Pitchers have 1 job get outs, hit your spot. Hitters get on base. Gotta be better disciplined. This game just like football is all a matter of inches.
