Evans vs.Boyle G.T. 8/9/25
Evans needs to be on his game tonight. Hopefully Naylor is back in the lineup, I'm tired of Solano taking ABs.

TLO wasn't following the game last night, had a very important golf match to attend.

What's the deal with Boyle? His WHIP was 1.72 last year in 48 innings mostly as a starter for the A's, who were playing in a pitcher's park. But for the Rays, who play in a hitter's park, his WHIP is 0.88 so far this season.

To answer my own question before Donnie B jumps in...
https://www.mlb.com/news/joe-boyle-s-ne ... r-the-raysBoyle's arm angle this season is 20 degrees lower than it was in his first season in 2023. That's a huge move from over-the-top toward sidearm.
Why would a young pitcher make such a dramatic change so early in his career? Simple:
"It was coming out faster, and it felt better," Boyle told MLB.com.

can't help jumping in...interesting, its one of the great aspects of baseball, successful dumpster diving, particularly with pitchers. The Rays, Dodgers and Mariners have all had success at it. The athletics aren't dummies usually, they traded him away before figuring out how to fix himSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 4:18 pmTo answer my own question before Donnie B jumps in...
