It is about balancing the present and the future, and I am happy with it. I couldn't imagine tearing up Julio's contract for the opportunity to have perhaps another $10 mil to spend this season which probably would have gone to lap dances as well. That would make less sense to me than trading top prospects for short term player additions.
“We had a few long conversations just talking about the future, the now, where we're at, where we need to add, where we think we're good and just kind of looking at the whole picture,” Raleigh said. “Obviously, like I said, now is important, but the future as well. And seeing what they had in the works, I liked what I saw.”
