Will Cal be #1?
Re: Will Cal be #1?
Cal is the 33rd player to ever it as many as 50 in a season 8/25.
With almost every HR from here on out he climbs up the list. 55 HR has never been done but every other between here and 63 has at least 1 guy with that #.

Cal became the first human in MLB history to hit 20 HRs from both sides of the plate.

He's capable of hitting another 6 before the end of the year. I'd like to see him hit 8, but I think that is stretching it.
Re: Will Cal be #1?
He’s averaging about 10 a month. He still has 5 weeks left. With this pace, and 30 games left he is on pace to hit 11.3 more.
They come in spurts, and you never know when those shorts will come. 60 isn’t out of the question though.

I'd like to see him hit 63, to beat Judge, Maris and Ruth.
Fuck Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds......Juice monsters. If Maris was asterisked, those three should be triple asterisked.

Not surprised that Mantle never came close to doing it even though he was a better hitter right-handed. The old Yankee Stadium was 402 feet to straightaway left field and 460 to left-center. Utterly ridiculous that they built it that way and left it like that until the mid-1970s.
