Is it just me, does Ohtani seem to have the NL MVP locked up for the foreseeable future? I can't envision someone ever having a better season than him. It's interesting though Judge and Ohtani are virtually tied in fWAR over the last four seasons
What if the Angels kept Ohtani? Who would win the AL MVP - Judge or Ohtani?

Somebody voted for Cal to win the MVP after he lost. Much respect.

That's an interesting question...We are assuming Cal doesn't sneak in. I had just looked over ohtani's numbers, I hadn't really grasped his season. They are unbelievable and on top of it he pitches. I remember when he first came over. The idea of a pitcher that could hit like Edgar seemed unbelievable but he has gone beyond that. He just seems on entirely other level. He's going to have off seasons but I just cant imagine it now. There's always injury I guess.

I'm looking at Edgar, he put up a 185 ops+ in 1995, the season he should have won the MVP. Ohtani has basically been averaging that the last three seasons, crazy

What's even crazier is the Texas voters both voted for Judge despite seeing more of Cal. Yeah what really is the definition of Valuable. Seriously. Is it in the rule book somewhere. Writers don't know shit. Their paid to give their opinion. In my eyes as everyone else it should come down to 2 people: the players & the coaches that's it. It's a peer award the writers don't do shit. They really don't. They weren't good enough to play so they get to do the next best thing write bad or good things about the local guys as well as nationally. No credibility whatsoever. Morosi did say if he had a vote he'd of voted for Cal. Again at least Ohtani's TEAM won a title as a TEAM. What has Judge won as a TEAM. Oh right nothing. All those individual awards & yet not ring. How sad. Who's valuable now. Couldn't even get your team a world series ring. I'm sure he's a nice person. It's not him it's the team. Anybody who's anybody loved Jeter as a person but not the Yanks themselves. Jeter was class all the way. No respect for that team or their writers.

Hah! Vote number 6 was me. It WAS after the fact but I didn't know it yet.
Still, I laughed at myself, for the absurdity and my respect for Cal

However, someone else voted for Raleigh after me. Now that is hilarious!

Early on in the season, I thought Judge was on a historic Mickey Mantle pace, For perhaps the first month he was possibly Triple-Crowning,
He won the batting title, "slipped" to fourth in home runs and crashed all the way down to fifth in RBIs.

The funniest stat of all was Cal winning the personal stolen base race over Aaron 14-12. THAT should have been the ultimate decision maker of MVP voters.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

At least folks here are disappointed but realistic. I've seen some other stuff on the internet that has folks acting like call lost to Dylan Moore

Then come up with another award. It doesn't make sense to me to have an award that's based on who the BBWAA feels is the MVP but have someone else vote on it. It's their award based on their opinion

I just voted for Cal because I still believe he is the MVP.

Just imagine what he might do if he gets more selective and not swing at so many pitches out of the zone.

Judge wins the award but Cal will always be the MVP this season to me.
