According to Statcast, Dominic Canzone had the longest home run of the day (444 feet in 7th inning) while Luke Raley had the hardest base hit of the dsay (113.8 mph in 5th inning).

Right there with you. Woo earned that spot last season. Even Kirby deserved it more. Gilbert for a whkle now has been nothing special, maybe a #3 starter on a good team.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 1:44 pmGilbert's ERA is now over 5. One game? Sure, but I feel he is being talked about as if he had some great game. I'll take 8 strikeouts instead of 12 if you stop giving up three runs every five innings. I just don't like watching that guy pitch. Not sure why, but this is just his MO. Dominate, then give up a big inning, and we lose. Zero clue how it was him on Openning night. I know I am VASTLY in the minority there. But he did nothing last year to tell me he should be the opening day starter on a rotation that is supposedly one of the best in baseball. Last night sure didn't change my mind.

You shouldn't be in the minority at all. Two seasons ago Gilbert had a WHIP of 0.89 which was the 21st-best in a season all-time (not counting the Dead Ball Era). His ERA was an inexplicable 3.23. Out of everyone who ever has had a WHIP of 0.90 or less in a season, the next-highest ERA is Randy Johnson at 2.60 in 2004. I mean, not even close. And this is a guy who pitches half his games in T-Mobile Park.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2026 1:44 pmGilbert's ERA is now over 5. One game? He's just someone who has the best stuff but is about as un-clutch as any pitcher who's ever lived. He dominates like you said, but then gives up big hits and loses games. Not to mention he totally no-showed in the ALCS.
