A lot more junk ball pitchers which is good for Emerson to see.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 3:58 amWell, AAA is an advanced assignment. The pitchers at that level, on average, have loads more experience than the pitchers he would normally be facing at AA. Many of them have significant time in the major leagues and are doing their best to get back there. It isn't spring training where nobody gives a shit what happens.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 3:37 amTotally agree. Dude hit the lottery from a poverty franchise.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 3:29 amThe Cooper Pratt contract doesn't make any sense at all. He's likely an above average defensive shortstop that projects to a below average major league bat. I mean, these are the guys you sign as minor league free agents or pick up on waivers. He isn't even Milwaukee's top prospect.
Colt's start is still SSS but the irony is that his calling card is plate discipline and it has been horrid
To me, his numbers so far show a guy that's challenged by the level, but holding his own. He probably should spend most of the season down there.

In his case I don't think money is remotely an issue but he might be feeling a lot of undue pressure right now, desbcoach wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 1:32 pmSome people have their own drive that money doesn’t satisfySibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 2:19 amGuess he doesn't have much cause to put out and try to get better now that he is guaranteed to be on the major league team at some point this season.

I wouldn't call them "junk ball pitchers". Fastball velocity of starters is on average lower, but they have a complete array of pitches that they can use to get you out with, and the catchers calling the games are all veterans too. They've been there, done that.desbcoach wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 1:34 pmA lot more junk ball pitchers which is good for Emerson to see.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 3:58 amWell, AAA is an advanced assignment. There's really nothing wrong with Emerson struggling a bit with AAA, that in itself is a learning experience. He's gaining experience at what it means to move up a level and master it. You really don't want him to not have been challenged before he reaches the majors. Learning how to go about making adjustments is part of the experience
