I wonder if Jerry has ever given any thought to the possible psychological impact on a player when they are given a major league contract before proving anything at that level. It would seem to me that it's going to screw with their heads with regard to hunger and motivation at a critical time in their development UNLESS they are very grounded and highly disciplined. I don't think it is worth the risk just to gain a year of control or whatever.

Colt hit an absolute monster home run over the batter's eye last night and now has six home runs on Pace for over 30 with almost a 30% k rate. Who saw that coming from him? But I would actually prefer that more than him having one home run in a 20% k rate. So all good.
