Zero reason for prospects to play injured. But I like this version of him better with more power I'm willing to sacrifice the higher K rate for sure
I agree with this sentiment.

However, you have been on a bender this year about young players not hitting, why? It takes some young players longer to figure baseball out. Here is a player you would have been posting how pathetic he is..... At age 23 and 24, this guy had over 1000 plate appearances in AA and had 9 HR's and a .748 OPS in those 2 years. But he kept working and at age 26, he made the Show.... in almost 200 plate appearances, had a .619 OPS and a 72 OPS+, so he really sucked.Yet he continued to work hard for the next 14 years and became a player they eventually named an award after... you might have heard of him... his first name is Edgar.

The point is give guys time to develop....yes some are like Julio and some are like Edgar, but each is unique and deserves to be screwed up by the M's on their own.

Of course, with the morons who run the front office, Edgar's might never happen again.

Hope you are well, brother.

I like Colt as a human and a player and I think he will eventually be a good MLB hitter. My point wasn't that he sucks or is going to be a bust it is that he was way over hyped by both the prospect ranking "experts" and Jerry, the latter completely unnecessarily. The difference between me and Jerry is that no matter what I type about a prospect here or on X, it will have ZERO impact on their development even if I am insanely negative or positive so not sure what the concern is. With Jerry, his creation of unreasonable expectations MIGHT have put undo pressure on Colt which contributed to his struggles but you are probably right it was more likely the wrist which you kind of need for hitting.

I am doing great. Over a month now of good physical and mental health and freedom from the poison. Thanks so much, Bill.

btw I have been high on far more hitters/pitchers than I have been down on with the 3 exceptions being Kelenic, Ford and Morales and seems I was right about all 3 of them.

That is great to hear! I admire you, dt. A good friend of mine was told to give up alcohol last July, after being diagnosed with a serious illness. He says he still misses it, every day. He's really pulled back quite a lot from social activities.
