Just as I expected, this is why Walker hasn't been signed yet

Yeesh!
I guess if you wanted to sign him to a 3 year $6M contract, now's the time.
IF.. you wanted to.. lol
He's probably on the Drew Smyly progression where he may be useful two years from now, if ever.

Hi asking price must be higher then what anyone is willing to pay at the moment. Why not get him for a couple of years at a low rate and see what happens. Haven't the Mariners taken greater risks with other pitchers, so I don't understand why they wouldn't see if this could be a risk/reward situation.

If his fastball is really topping out at 88 mph the reward is zero.saintevil wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 4:40 pmHi asking price must be higher then what anyone is willing to pay at the moment. Ask yourself, if his name was Fred Walker and he had the exact career he has had other than his time with the M's was with the Reds instead would anyone here have any interest? Rhetorical question.

I think he's still recovering from surgery and if you could get him on a cheap deal, it's worth the risk. Is there another 27 year old SP out there looking for a bounce back year we could go after instead? I'm game for anything as I think the current SP group needs something more.
