For Julio, the concussion happened on July 7th. If you look at his month by month splits, he's a different player since that happened.

Okay, thanks... Remember how people get wacked over the head constantly in movies and television. That was crazy how they treated concussions

Ferrer and Bazardo are both good pieces. They've just been used too much. The bullpen needs to be more of a fortress but the Mariners think they can rebuild it every year and rely on the pile to fill spots 7 and 8, which means with injuries you're looking at 5 or 6 (or more) pile guys every year playing significant roles.

You know the mariners starters are like last in baseball in innings pitched. Another thing they once were good at that now they suck . It's amazing how bad they've become at everything

Yep. The bad defense doesn't help with that either. But defense doesn't matter right?

It's interesting, the interrelationships and how its all collapsed. Its a fascinating train wreck. Wonder what dipoto will have to say about it after the season.

When you have bad defense because you have good bat-first offense, no, it doesn't.

When you have bad defense but you still can't outscore the other team, yeah, it sucks.

So, defense matters to pitchers ERA. But not necessarily the win column.

I would submit that pitchers' ERA matters to the win column.
