Larry Stone: Baseball Could Use a Little Tough Love
Re: Larry Stone: Baseball Could Use a Little Tough Love
I agree with Stone, baseball needs some tough love. And tell these guys to fit their hair under their hat/helmet, it's part of the game. Like having a pony tail in an MMA fight, bad idea.
Get a pitch clock.
Ban the shift. Let umps call balks for playing "out of position".
Dont mess with the mound, distance or height, imo.

Max of 4 pitchers per team per game would solve a lot.

Just zero reason that you need more than four pitchers to get through 9 innings. I just randomly looked at 7 games from yesterday. 10 of the 14 teams used at least 5 pitchers. Insanity.

I don't know. I am the opposite I think. The opener is a thing considering not all 5 are Verlanders, Randys, Ace material so run a opener and fireman, and a set-up an 8th inning former closer, then closer. Seriously, you could run a shuttle from Tacoma to Seattle with basically 1/2 you pitching staff option-able.

Everytime you mention the hair thing for some bizarre reason I think back to Mr Burns telling Don Mattingly repeatedly to trim his sideburns.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 12:31 pmI agree with Stone, baseball needs some tough love.
