Ball breaker game thread

Post by D-train » Sun Jun 09, 2019 5:59 pm

Guessing if our opener gave up three runs every first inning for 10 seasons, SS would still stick with it.

Austin Adams (R)
Trevor Cahill (R)
1. Mallex Smith (L) CF
2. Domingo Santana (R) RF
3. Edwin Encarnacion (R) DH
4. Daniel Vogelbach (L) 1B
5. Tim Beckham (R) 2B
6. Kyle Seager (L) 3B
7. Tom Murphy (R) C
8. Mac Williamson (R) LF
9. Dylan Moore (R) SS

Austin Adams with quite the resume in his 18.1 innings of major league work. If putting these scrubs in to start games isn't an attempt at throwing games then I don't know what would be.

Maybe on 18.1 innings but he has manage 19 walks in those 18.1 innings. Now that is impressive.

So Tom Murphy making the case that he should be an every day catcher. Do you keep them both, or do you trade one of them? Are there enough at bats for Murphy and Narvaez? Both are under team control for 3 years. Narvaez has a longer track record and a year younger. Is Murphy a better defender? I don't know. Murphy probably a little more power.

Then again, its good to have 2 catchers that can hit. and neither are breaking the bank.

Murphy currently the best two way player in baseball. Higher OPS and has struck out more guys than Ohtani......

I would keep both.
