Disagree, no reason to cast Beckham aside. He is an asset. Much moreso than Dee Gordon for example.

Beckham will be one of those guys that got away for us for a year or two when he gets steady playing time on his next team. Probably hit for an .800 OPS and 25 homeruns playing 2B every day for the Brewers or some team seeking a starting 2B.
Like Motter who is hitting .161 in AAA right now. ;)

Excellent point! Teams clearly sour on Beckham quickly so the chance of ever playing daily might be unrealistic at his age. I still think it'll happen. Been wrong before!

There isn't someone better behind Beckham. Please dont say Long. He's another Dylan Moore, Braden Bishop replacement level bum that this forum loves feeling good about, but come on, they aren't going to fill any holes either.

Longs AAA numbers aren't anything to get excited about in that league. Kristopher Negron, whoever that is, for example, has an .887 OPS to Sheds .850 people keep getting excited about.

Fraley started off slow and has a .955 OPS there. Longs defense obviously didnt earn him 2B.

Planning our best team now, and 2020, Beckham's the best we have. Even his current numbers make Dee look like the UTIL that he is.

I despise Gordon the player as well and will save some fireworks from the fourth to celebrate when he is traded. I am not a huge fan of Long's but he put up a .706 OPS during his first cup of coffee with us as a 23 yo. He put up 0.3 WAR in just 79 PAs. He had a wRC of 97.

Beckham will be 30 yo next season and has a career OPS of .728 and this season a wRC of 94 and 0.0 WAR. Long fits this team better than Beckham both in terms of age and upside imo.

Another one of Dipoto’s fine acquisitions, that flair for talent, hard to describe.
