The Mariners are likely to rely on Crawford's 905-game career numbers more than on the cited 38-game sample. FanGraphs projects the 30-year-old Crawford with a wRC+ of 106 the remainder of the season, consistent with his career wRC+ of 105.
If the Mariners bench Crawford, do they not play him the remainder of the season? If not, under what circumstances do the M's play Crawford?
BABIP is a stupid stat. Hit it where they ain't. The best don't have that issue.
