Skubal will be going game 1 for Detroit which would set him up to go game 2 and game 5 in the ALDS if the Tigers were to advance. Would you rather face Cleveland who are obviously a much hotter team or face the Tigers with Skubal going twice in 5 games? Might not matter if the Tigers can't score runs. He had a 2.42 ERA in September and the Tigers went 1-3 in his 4 starts.

M's beat him twice this year. Beat him 3-2 at T-Mobile in the beginning of the season. And then roughed him up for 4 Runs in 5 innings right before the All-Star break.
Exactly Skubal / Screwball....doesn't matter.

I think if any of the four have particularly struggled vs CLE or vs DET you have to push them back

so you would go with how they pitched in a particular game as opposed to how they pitched for the season

Only if it was abnormally terrible. If there's a noticeably bad track record vs DET in there (or CLE) I don't want that pitcher going for me early

All of those are Micro samples. I can't believe Logan had 19 Ks in 10 innings vs. the Tigers though.

I still think Logan will start Game 1 just like he did on OD. He didn't do anything to warrant getting demoted from #1 starter.

Yeah, these numbers all look fine. Thanks for doing the work I didn't want to do

I mean he struggled to go deep but a lot of that was just weird happenstance. He's been looking sharp all second half. I'm good with Logan at 1, Woo 2, Kirby 3

I am still sticking with my original thought on the rotation. I don't want to start Woo game one because if he has an issue with his injury not only do you need to bring Miller in but then you would also potentially be starting Miller another time later in the series. I really don't want Castillo or Gilbert Pitching on the road because they have been so much better at home this season. Gilbert has a 2.24 ERA at home and a 4.74 ERA on the road. Throwing him in game one would mean that he would get 2 starts at home in the series if they make it to game 5. Castillo has a 2.60 ERA at home and a 4.71 on the road. I'm throwing him in game 2. I am giving Woo the start in game 3 on the road on Tuesday the 7th . If he looks perfectly healthy, That would would set him up to come back on regular 4 days rest and be the starter in game 1 of the ALCS on Sunday the 12th if they advance. Kirby can take game 4 and then Gilbert again in game 5 on a regular 4 days rest at home if they need it.
