Skubal done after 7.2 IP and 106p

I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but with Skubal a FA after '26, I hope the M's go after him hard. Seattle native. Probably would love to come home. Lefty. Best pitcher in the league. I'd make a serious run at him.

I think M's lock up Gilbert this winter, something like 6 yrs, $180m. Skubal could essentially take over Castillo's spot as the veteran, big contract guy. He'll be age 30. As long as he has another healthy year, I'd be willing to do 6 yrs, 210m
If Kade Anderson and Sloan work out they won’t be spending big money on a FA pitcher

They ought to be considering trading young pitching for young bats and filling the rotation from FA. Its a whole lot easier to get a pitcher to come play in this ballpark than it is a hitter.

Love seeing Judge and Skanks lose. Judge can not play OF in a big park, no arm

If the Tigers win that means Skubal would start Game 2 against us and that's the only time he'd start. We've done well against him but still wouldn't want to see him twice.
Game 2 is on Sunday. Game 5 is Friday so he would be able to pitch game 5 on a full 4 days rest.
Crap, two travel days, I forgot. Might want to not go five with those guys.

I have seen some version of this post about 357 times but never a mention of who these mystery young bats are.

Right exactly. I'm with you DT. As much as we'd all love the local boy to come home, if you can develop home grown pitching you keep it, especially this Sloan kid. Holy crap. Can you say ACE. All those guys, no room available. Somebody's gotta go. Kade potentially next year Sloan possibly in 2 maybe 3 years. Can't keep everybody. Who gets voted off M's island.

If Seattle were to take game 1 from Skubal I'd gotta think they'd be favored in the next couple at least. Just not really a feared lineup.
