That's a good motivator but so far he's not putting up his overall numbers. It looks like he'll ultimately get us a Ben Gamel-type player at best.
He put up 1.0 WAR last season and this season he already has 1.3 WAR on pace for 4.0 WAR so I will have to disagree with you there.

I think when I said that it was before his recent hitting spree. I actually wish we could keep him for a couple years, still a great power bat and he draws a lot of walks which would be great if Healy didn't kill innings.
That's the problem with hoping your power hitter draws walks is they are the guy that's supposed to be driving the runs in, not the guys behind them.
That's why sluggers are judged by OPS not OBP.
