He should be the starting catching and Cal's mentor for 2022

I agree, nothing wrong with Murphy being our bird in hand. They certainly can't be accused of pulling any of these guys before they got a fair chance to turn it around.

I'm happy they stuck with Murphy long enough that he came back to life before we shipped him off somewhere for peanuts.

you replied to my question with a new thread? lol...Murphy has shown some more power the last couple of seasons. He has never really been a front line catcher. Dipoto hasn't been shy to move on from a catcher. A lot would depend on who might be available. If SS, 2nd and 3rd are bigger concerns then it begs the question what they do with Toro, Crawford and France. Is Murphy more likely to be starting than one of those?
They should keep France at 1B and will probably keep Crawford at SS. I would like a trade for JRam and sign Semien. Toro to UT.
I definitely agree with this...Let's make a trade for Ramirez... And go for two quality free agents. France has proven to be a top drawer first baseman. Crawford has a great range and a great arm. Adding JRam and Semiem helps the M's on both sides...offense and defense... We have outfield options galore and don't want to block our crowded farm system outfield... We have bullpen options galore, and a fairly full pipeline of starters emerging.... If we do bring in a pitcher, he should be one of the top 5 free agents...

Definitely. I will have my popcorn ready for the hot stove league. Hopefully the popcorn won't be the highlight of the off season.

He played his first 4 years in Colorado. His career OPS in Coors Field is 1.019 His Career OPS in the other 29 Ballparks is .697. There are bigger things to address than Catcher but I think if you have an opportunity to improve there you do it. he will be 31 next season and is getting past his prime he is only going to be declining from here on out. Personally I'd rather see Torrens there. Not as good with the Glove but he is 5 years younger and has way more upside with the Bat. He has an .811 OPS since being recalled in June. An .811 OPS would rank 6th among MLB catchers with 300 PA.
