Exactly, you set rosters for each series. If Marco and Flexen are on the WC roster, SS and JD are idiots

This would be my roster:
France
Haggerty
Crawford
Suarez
Raleigh
Casali
Santana
Kelenic
Rodriguez
Haniger
Winker
Frazier
Moore
Toro

Starters
Kirby
Castillo
Ray
Gilbert

Bullpen
Munoz
Castillo
Swanson
Boyd
Sewald
Brash
Murfee
Borucki? is he ready?

Looks like Gilbert will be the starter not lined up to pitch in the WC series so he becomes Randy coming out of the pen for that series. I like him as high leverage option b, only behind Munoz

JP
JK
Julio
Mitch

Sam
Casali
Frazier
Trammel

Castillo
Gilbert
Kirby
Ray
Marco

Munoz
Sewald
Swanson
Boyd
Brash
Murfee
Castillo
Flexen
Who's gonna be cut, that's the real question here.

If you need Flexen or Marco, especially in the short series, something has gone seriously wrong.

Dump them like hot potatoes.

Unless.. is there anyone that actually wants either to be handed the ball in the playoffs?

I think it would be a cute story for Dipoto, how he grabbed both from obscurity, but then chances are we'll be behind by 3 in no time, so the feel good story isn't worth it imo.

I think Winker will get nod over trammel but most likely correct.
Yep that is my wish list not my prediction...
Yeah that would be the ultimate middle finger for a vet like Winker if he's left off the roster.
But he looks good in a hoodie!!!
Winkie should be right in the spot he earned but it won’t happen. I would suit him up as the Moose but he would hurt himself🤣

i'll bite. I wouldn't mind having Flexen in the pen in the case of a long extra inning game to come in at the end or to fill some relief innings the next game.

I was wondering that, what if for some crazy reason you need a starter replacement, Ray slips in the shower. Do you carry some kind of insurance like that?

Who are the only current Mariner pitchers with postseason wins on their resume?

Hint: one has two postseason wins and the other has a single postseason win

Worst comes to worst, you'd still have your top 4 starters in a 3 game series.

I don't think they need more than 20 guys, 26 is a luxury to begin with.

I'd let Smyly handle it if something crazy comes up.

Either way, I'm not handing the ball to Marco or Flexen, regardless of the situation. Too prone to bad innings.

If Flexen threw like 5 mph harder, he'd make a good reliever, he has that intensity. Unfortunately he doesn't.
