yea, i meant it seems such a wacky thing to do, I mean in terms of Jrod, there would be no reason to do it, it was just pure PR i would think...Arod handled it i guess, though he turned into a head case...maybe he didn't handle it so well

The odd thing was the team was doing well and was right in its 95 run and had no need for offense.

it was 94...its was odd, they brought him up in July, but he only got a handful of at bats, then it occurred to me, that was the strike year, they went out August 12...they brought him up to go out on strike

Unreal I had completely forgot it was 94. I thought 95 was his first year. They really didn't need to bring him up until 96 so we would have two more years of control possibly

Very small sample for JRod and his swing is a bit long. I got all excited about a young Alex Liddi with his .345 average and Player of the Year status, but it was the California League.... JRod will be tested at AA. Still, I am more interested in the young players like J.Rod, Noelvi Marte, Jarred Kelenic,Rizzo, and Jordan Cowan because they are all the youngest one or two players on their team.

I would not have minded holding on to Omar Vizquel a couple years longer too. Traded before 94 season for Felix Fermin and Reggie Jefferson.

In 5+ games as an 18 yo in High A, a league with an in which he is 4.4 years younger than the average player, he is 10-17 (.588) with 2 doubles, a triple a HR and 9 RBIs.   :D :D :D

dt
Kyle Lewis in LF, Kelenic in CF, Julio in RF, Fraley as 4th OF. If Fraley is too good to be an every day OF, then trade him or Kyle Lewis for a starting pitching. Could be mid 2021 as well as Julio has been playing. We've seen other 20 year olds take the league by storm. Why not Julio?!
The new Big 3

I would bet against Kyle Lewis being a long term major League starter.

Probably, but there is some hope for him with how he's played the last 3 months

Cowan is almost 4 and 1/2 older then his newest teammate. I wont surprised if he's coaching somewhere next season unfortunately.
