Hilarious. That contract will be an albatross down the line and handcuff them. Teams that try to buy their way don’t always do well either (see last year’s Padres and Mets)

Judge got 9 years and $360M
Ohtani got 10 years and $700M
I am sure we have had this ci carnation before, but wouldn’t baseball benefit from a salary cap?
Re: Ohtani to Dodgers!!!!!
At $8M per WAR he just has to put up 87.5 or 8.75 per season for it to by worth it in the saber sense.

LOL I am sure a few millionaires commit suicide in this country every year. Does that mean people shouldn't try to become wealthy?? A couple exceptions does not negate an obvious correlation between spending and winning.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 9:07 pmHilarious. Also thinking the Dodgers will EVER be handcuffed is crazy.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 9:07 pmHilarious. That contract will be an albatross down the line and handcuff them. Teams that try to buy their way don’t always do well either (see last year’s Padres and Mets)

In today's dollars, yes, but with inflation and revenues rising, in 10 years, maybe not.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 9:07 pmHilarious.
