I know it is not PC but Cosby was a great storyteller. Here is the original story about Fat Albert

According to Fangraphs, George Kirby has been worth 1.2 fWAR and Logan Gilbert just 0.6 fWAR despite Gilbert's 0.80 WHIP and 1.87 ERA. Kirby has a 1.11 WHIP and ERA of 4.18... Kirby leads all starting pitchers in FIP at 2.08 while Gilbert is is 29th with a 3.34.

Me thinks Fangraphs values FIP too much. The point is to allow other teams to not score runs...

Today's lineup screams runs. Sux to have Haniger on the bench but needs rest. Cal has been struggling so day off knew that was coming. Hopefully Seby catches well and produces at the plate today. Rivas debut. Hopefully he crushes it!

Pitching fWAR is based exclusively on FIP. I totally agree and noticed that this morning as well.

BR has Gilbert at 1.2 bWAR and Kirby at 0.1 bWAR.

I think there's a middle ground to be achieved here.

I think both should apply FIP and R/9 50/50 of the current allocated values lol

Good thing Pfaadt sucks. Career 4-10 with a 5.54 ERA.

In his only start against the M's he went 5.2 IP with 3 ER's. He gave up 8 hits and a walk.

Yes! Can't fathom how they can be so stubborn and arrogant to not come together and have a standard WAR for the good of the game....
