If you respond that's the definition of feedback
Feedback is not the same as a response.

I'm not responding for this clown to learn anything from it.

I'm responding because his drone-ish responses are annoying. He's not taking anything away from it.

I'm no general manager, but isn't trading a young, controllable pitcher for a 36 year old 1B who has -0.2 WAR this season and is batting below the Mendoza line not the upgrade you need "to take full control of the AL west"?

I just don't know how people who profess to wanting to be sports writers can have so little understanding of accurate trade value. Here's the short of it: Goldschmidt has NONE.

He makes no mention of the financials involved here... for the M's to have any interest in Goldschmidt the Cardinals would likely have to eat the remainder of the $26 million owed here.

And then he throws in Bryan Woo as the piece going back? A starter with a high ceiling and 6 years of control for 3 months of a 36 year old who looks like age is finally catching up?

Never in a million years.

Well their theory is that by the deadline Goldy will be back to form regaining some trade value - but not to the extent that they are hoping, lol. We would never trade Woo for that guy. We might trade him or Hancock for Alonso but that would be the only player I see doing that for.

Well yeah, but even if Goldschmidt had 10 homers, was hitting .300, and had a .850 OPS... they still wouldn't get Woo in return for 3 months of a 36 year old 1B making $26 million.

The insane thing is that Mike Ford might be a good target in a couple months relative to France and Garver. Reds are toast.
