Yeah, I think the process is really budget driven. I don't believe dipoto is trying to be clever by leaving owners money on the table. I think he's given a budget and I think he uses all of it. I think you saw that this last season. Stanton claimed he had nothing to do with the decision to make those cost cutting trades. He didn't other than giving dipoto his budget. That was dipoto repurposing money already spent. He worked out a roster in relationship to the money he could create,. He could take on a contract but he'd have to work it into his budget which seems unlikely. I would guess he's going to be trying to weed out the unproductive salaries already on the roster rather than adding to them
