I saw he will be coming in to compete for a job as a 4th OFer....
He just needs more time to figure it out.

He is just too talented to fail. He will eventually rake, be patient. All prospect development isn't linear.

As a fourth outfielder he has value, if that's the worst case it makes the trade a no brainer

Fourth OFers can be had for between $1-2 million a year. He is about to enter his Arb years. Braves paid for a regular letting Jerry off the hook with Marco and Whites salary dumps.

I think Donn is referring to Soler where you're referring to Kelenic.

Soler is likely headed there to DH and play the occasional OF spot.

He's a fine player, but for $16 million a year? Ehhh.

Jesus...

That was fast. Delusional Angels strike again.

Sending Griffin Canning to the Braves. Canning was a top-70 prospect in baseball in 2019 but never lived up to the hype.
Looks like a salary dump on the part of the Braves, especially with Acuna coming back.

The bigger question, of course, is what the hell they'll do with Kelenic.
I saw he will be coming in to compete for a job as a 4th OFer....
He could be non-tendered as part of Atl's money issues.

Wow great point, Nathan he is Arb eligible now. I didn't think it was until next off season. Probably in line for about $3M

In the FWIW category, Jim Bowden of the Athletic said this in his article today:

10. The Mariners sign first baseman Christian Walker (three years, $72 million), improving offensively and defensively at the position. Seattle also lands second baseman Brandon Lowe (two years, $24 million) after Tampa Bay doesn’t pick up his option
