PaulAnka homered. Now hitting .091 w/ .455 OPS. 3B job is secure for the 3-hole shitter........I meant hitter.
Meanwhile Williamson is .333 w/ .967 OPS. Better fielder, doesn't have to ugly learn 3B and has a stronger arm...and speed.
I think Williamson is going to need to prove a bit more than his .769 OPS between A and AA as a 23 year old.
I'd like to see his power increase some as he matures, too.
Just hoping re-signing Polanco wasn't a blunder and he can handle 3rd base with yearlong good health and a resurgent hit tool.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

Ford, Emerson and Polanco go deep in the same game. My life is truly complete.

Ford is killing it in ST.

This is a good test if Dipoto and Hollander really mean it when they say (paraphrasing here b.c I didn't write down the exact quote) "if the kids show us we'll let them run with it" or if that just applied to Kelenic and J-Rod.

Kelenic had a .904 OPS at age 19 across A, A+, AA.

Julio had a 1.001 OPS across A, A+ at 20 which was delayed due to the pandemic.

Harry Ford put up a .745 OPS in AA at age 21, hitting just 7 homers over 116 games.

Please, try to understand nuance for a minute. Yes, he's a catcher. No, his bat hasn't proven to be anywhere near ready.

Polanco was a 20 HR per 600 plate appearance player last season, so it's not that he's the worst option in the world at 3B.

It just seems so underwhelming.

Especially on top of Solano/Tellez being the 1B/DH type additions...

Bliss seems to be pushing Moore into the utility role. Fine, he can't hit for average anyways.

Does it look like Solano/Tellez push Raley to some 4th OF duty?

Where does that leave Haniger?

Why do we need 26 guys on each team?

One thing I'm happy about is Dan Wilson didn't mess around with trying to give the bench guys more time than they deserved compared to Servais.

Takeaway: We could have not done the trade and we would still have Topa in the pen, the two prospects doing well in the minors AND still could have signed Polanco. They say it is a win/win trade. I disagree.
